Privacy Policy
Effective: DRAFT — not yet effective
This Privacy Policy explains how Plumbline ("we", "us") handles information when a homeowner requests service through a contractor page or when a contractor uses the Plumbline platform. By using the site you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
When a homeowner submits a request or places a call through a contractor page, we collect the contact details and project description they provide (such as name, phone number, address, and a short description of the work needed) so the request can be routed to a vetted local contractor.
For contractors, we collect business and account information needed to operate the service, including business name, service areas, licensing and insurance details, and billing information processed by our payment provider.
We automatically collect basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) and use a tracking phone number to measure which contractor page generated a call.
How we use information
We use homeowner information solely to connect the request with the appropriate local contractor and to support the resulting service relationship. We do not sell homeowner contact information.
We use contractor information to operate the platform, deliver qualified leads, bill for those leads, and provide support.
How information is shared
A homeowner’s request details are shared with the single local contractor matched to that request. We share information with service providers (such as our telephony, hosting, and payment vendors) only as needed to operate the service, and as required by law.
Text messaging and your mobile information
If you choose to opt in to text messages from Plumbline — for example, by checking the consent box on a service-request form — we will use your mobile phone number to send you messages related to your request, such as a request to review your experience. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The phone numbers and consent collected for SMS messaging will never be shared or sold to third parties or lead generators for any purpose.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for help. Opting out of text messages does not affect any other part of your request or your relationship with the contractor matched to you.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us. Where text messaging is offered, you may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
